【Q3】What is the difference between a weir type diaphragm valve (400 type) and straight type diaphragm valve (500 type)?
The basic structures of the weir type diaphragm valve (400 type) and the straight type diaphragm valve (500 type) are the same, but their flow path design and applications differ.
The main features of each are as follows.
○Weir type diaphragm valves (400 type)
- Basic structure of diaphragm valve having a weir at the fluid passage. The diaphragm and weir of the body are tightly closed for airtightness to achieve high valve seat sealing performance.
- A wide selection of body and diaphragm materials is available for a broad range of fluid conditions.
- Applicable field: Chemical, environment and water treatment, ironmaking , shipbuilding, pharmaceutical, food processing, semiconductor, power generation, etc.
○Straight type diaphragm valves (500 type)
- The fluid passage is straight, which minimizes pressure drop and/or fluid accumulation.
- Applicable to viscose fluid, cellulose fluid, slurry, sledge and other fluids containing suspended solids.
- Applicable field:Water purifying plants, terminal treatment plant, etc.
