Creating comfortable workplaces

1.Improving the environment for work life balance

We are working to improve the internal environment so that we can continue to work while balancing life events such as childbirth, childcare, and nursing care with work.

2.Promoting diversity

We are committed to creating an environment in which diverse human resources can play an active role and in which all employees can work comfortably for sustainable development.
In order to create a working environment in which women can fully demonstrate their individuality and abilities, we have been conducting environmental improvement questionnaires and promoting participation in internal and external seminars, based on the action plan.
We are also actively engaged in the recruitment of foreign human resources, the employment of the elderly, and the promotion of the employment of people with disabilities in an effort to create an environment in which a wide range of human resources can play an active role.

3.Establishment of an environment for self-realization

Through systems such as "self-assessment and self-evaluation" and "Opinion and proposal submission", we are promoting the creation of a work environment that raises employee awareness and makes it easier to work.

Factory tour for elementary school students

Since 2011, we have cooperated with local elementary schools and, as part of the lessons, we invite the elementary school students to factory tours to help the lessen to know "people working at factories in Shinagawa and their relationship with our lives."
*We are currently discontinuing tours to prevent COVID-19 infectious disease.

Installation of a postal post

In 2018, with the suspension of the post office's mail collection service for corporations, we applied to the post office and installed a post box on the company premises as a social contribution to local residents and companies as well as to improve the work environment of the employees in charge.

Provision of used clothing, etc. to developing countries

As part of activities, which Seika Corporation conducting, we donate clothing and vaccines to developing countries.

1.ISO14001 certification

In 2008, we acquired ISO14001 certification to promote continuous reduction of environmental impact, and are engaged in environmental activities.

As part of our environmental activities, environmentally-friendly packaging cushioning materials.

Examples of environmentally-friendly products

1.Diaphragm valve

  1. The diaphragm valve has a simple structure that consists of three units: the actuator, the diaphragm, and the body. Compared to other valve types, there are fewer parts and no waste of consumables.
  2. Chloroprene diaphragm is lead-free.
  3. environmentally-friendly paints and lubricants that do not contain harmful heavy metals.(Compliant with RoHS directive)
  4. Durability of pneumatic actuator has been greatly improved and the replacement cycle of consumables parts can be extended.

2.Ball valve

  1. We use environmentally-friendly paints and lubricants that do not contain harmful heavy metals.(Compliant with RoHS directive)
  2. The solenoid valve of the pneumatic actuator can be mounted directly, eliminating the need for pneumatic piping and reducing the amount of material used.

Other initiatives

1.Promotion of conversion to LED lights

In 2020, we completed conversion to LED lights of the entire headquarters building in order to reduce environmental impact. We use motion sensors in places where many people come and go.

2.Encouraging employees to wear no neckties throughout the year

We encourage our employee to wear no neckties throughout the year to reduce energy consumption by the appropriate use of air conditioning and heating, and to create a more comfortable working environment.
